This is Hummus without Tahini. How can this be?
The secret ingredient is Aquafaba. This is a very technical word for the liquid from a can of chickpeas (or Garbanzo) beans. You can read more about this phenomenon here, but it’s true. Did I mention this is also a glutten-free vegan recipe, but anyone can/will eat it and you can garnish with jalapeno’s or nuts or drizzle a more olive oil and get creative with basic or gourmet crackers.

What to cook with those healthy, affordable and pantry stocked cans of Black Beans? Brownies, of course! There are lots of options to experiment a little with this recipe, so try them a variety of ways …
1. the larger the pan, the slimmer and firmer the brownies, which is great for that perfect bite size taste, 2. flexiblity with chocolate ( I found out that 6 individual wrap Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Squares = 1/2 semi-sweet- chocolate chocolate chips) … and … 3. sad, but true, if you forget to add the baking powder and/or salt and coffee … you will still get wonderful brownies, just a little flatter but tasty… very forgiving…. and the smoother the puree mixture, the smoother and less bean-like texture ….. this is alot of beans!
