Never Fail Pie Crust
This retro pie crust recipe is reprinted in countless church cookbooks and family collections from the late 50’s and forward….but it does assume the home baker knows what to do after adding and mixing all ingredients!
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 1/2 Tblsp water
Directions
- Cream flour, salt, shortening.
- Beat egg well.
- Make a hole in your mixture and add beaten egg along with the vinegar and water.
This makes about 3 crusts.
