Meringue

Try using this recipe for any meringue topped pie (copied from an old church cookbook)

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 eggs whites
  • 6 Tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla or lemon flavoring.

Directions

  1. Cook, stir together and cool the sugar, 1/2 cup water and cornstarch.
  2. Add egg whites and 6 Tbsp water to the soft meringue.
  3. Beat until stiff.
