Green Pepper Steak
A simple dish that gets better, the longer it simmers. This “conglomeration” is a complete meal when you add a green salad and serve with a good bread.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs round steak
- 2 Tblsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 2 large bell peppers, cut into strips (*option: use any combo or green/yellow/red peppers)
- 2 large onions, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 lb mushrooms
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup red wine
Directions
- Cut round steak into 1/2 inch strips. Brown well in skillet, using olive oil and garlic.
- In a second skillet, saute green peppers and onions.
- When vegetables are tender, add mushrooms.
- Mix together sautéed vegetables with the browned meat, add salt and pepper and wine.
- Simmer for at least 15 minutes, better the longer you simmer.
